    To help with form filling we are offering Carers Assessment Open Days in our office with help on hand from staff. The next one is at Meon House in Portswood from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm on: Saturday 16th February. Read more

  • Peer Support Health Walk Meet-Up February 2019

    Capable Creatures’ Peer Support Walk meets every 4th Tuesday at 11.45am meeting outside the Hawthorn Urban Wildlife Centre on the Southampton Common. You do not need a dog to join in. Family, friends, PAs, carers and children are welcome. £1 contribution towards the insurance necessary to hold these walks. The walk is about 2 miles (3.2km) and finishes at about 1.30pm Read more

  • Carer Technology Showcase

    An exhibition of latest solutions for independent living: Leading organisations developing and supplying technological products to help carers will be at The Spark, Southampton Solent University on Tuesday 19th March 2019 from 10am to 4pm. Carers can book a free lunch, available from 12 to 2pm. Carers registering and attending will be entered into a Prize Draw for a Tablet PC. Read more

  • Win a flight in a Spitfire

    Nuffield Southampton Theatres (NST) have partnered with Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar to win a flight in a Spitfire. The generous prize has been donated to help NST celebrate their first birthday in NST City, Southampton’s city centre theatre and to raise income for NST’s Impact Fund which funds projects for local young people and emerging artists.     New research by Carers UK reveals that 2.6 million have quit their job to care for a loved one who is older, disabled or seriously ill. This is a 12% increase since the public were polled in 2013. Read more
