People often don’t see themselves as carers and aren’t identified and as a result miss out on vital practical and financial support with disastrous consequences for their own health and finances.

Carers Rights Day brings organisations across the UK together to help carers in their local community know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to. If you are caring for someone at the moment and would like to find out more about your rights click here.

Many carers have money worries.  Nearly 8 out of 10 families caring for someone say it has had an impact on their finances.  Our free Carers Card offers discounts and also provides identity as a carer.

This Carers Rights Day on Friday 24 November in Southampton, we remind unpaid carers about the free Carers Card by handing out wallet sized information leaflets around the Royal South Hants Hospital.

These leaflets invite unpaid carers to request a Carers Card by phoning 023 8058 2387 or via our website
