Advocacy options for those living within the Hampshire County Council area

2. Non commissioned via voluntary organisation Advocacy Safety Net - This is a 6 month Lottery Funded project to support people who fall between gaps in services to find the right support.  It is provided by Hampshire Advocacy Partnership, a partnership of community based, independent organisations that have been providing county wide statutory and non statutory advocacy in Hampshire.  Website: 

From May to October 2021 people with a learning disability, autism or mental health issues (or other vulnerable adults) in Hampshire can be supported by advocates to

  • Find the most appropriate service
  • Make informed decisions and choices
  • Ensure services make adjustments for their needs

These are some of the services you may need support to access and work with:

– Local authority social care, welfare and child protection services
– GP surgeries, hospital outpatients services, Learning Disability Liaison and community nurses
– Police and criminal justice agencies
– Citizen’s Advice, and other debt or housing advice services
– Local district councils
– Local specialist services like Autism Hampshire, carers organisations, mental health Wellbeing services
– Statutory independent advocacy where appropriate
