NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  They will ask you questions and can send you to A&E, an out-of-hours doctor, an urgent care centre or a walk-in centre, a community nurse, an emergency dentist or a late-opening chemist.

You might be worried because you're not sure what you should do in this situation, but you may be entitled to time off work for such emergencies. This means you have peace of mind knowing that if the worst should happen, you can be there to support the person you look after.

    Following the great success of the “Message in a Bottle” scheme, The Lions Club have introduced “Message in a Wallet”. The “Bottle” is widely supported by paramedics who can find your medical details quickly when the “Bottle” is used and kept in the fridge. The "Wallet" is to provide the same quick and simple access to medical details but anywhere outside the home.

  • Priority Services Register with Southern Water

    Join the Priority Services Register to ensure that during an incident, you receive additional support while the water is turned off. For example, customers on kidney dialysis will receive supplies of bottled water immediately. This page also lists special assistance services and help with paying your water bills.
