Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks support people who may need a little extra help in their local area through planned repairs to their network, emergency electrical faults and home resilience. SSEN look after the network that delivers electricity to homes, businesses and schools throughout central Southern England. Please note that their responsibility is solely the safe operations and performance of their overhead and underground electricity network, along with the infrastructure, so rest assured this is not an enquiry relating to the meter and subsequent electricity supplier.  

Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks provide a free Priority Service Register (PSR); this is to register vulnerable people on their system. In turn, this allows them to highlight PSR customers when there is a fault, or if there are planned power outages. This alerts them, so they can visit them and check if any requirements are needed. There is also a free phone number whereby, once registered, they can call and not queue for a quick response to any worries about their power. Customers can be with any supplier to benefit from this service.

Should the power go out at any time of day or night they may be able to help. This could be something as simple as arranging hot water to heat baby milk or in the extreme, say with medical equipment, arranging a small emergency generator. You can be eligible in any age group, from over 60s to families with children under 5, people who may have poor health or other issues.
