Pre-register as a carer to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine 

Unpaid and family carers aged 16+ are listed as one of the priority groups for an early COVID-19 vaccination.  

You will be automatically invited for the vaccine if you are registered as a carer at your GP surgery or receive a carers benefit.  The Carers in Southampton service will notify the NHS that you are a carer if you complete this form or you can call us on this free phone number 0800 776 5217 but please be aware that the phone lines are extremely busy.  You do not need to do this if you are already confident that your GP knows you are a carer. If you are in a priority group higher than group 6 you can contact the NHS or your GP and have the vaccine as a priority.  For carers already registered with Carers in Southampton please click here.

You will be contacted directly by the NHS when it is your turn to be vaccinated.  

Priority is based on clinical risk so carers who provide personal care to a clinically vulnerable person will likely receive their vaccinations before carers living at a distance or caring for someone who is not vulnerable.

It is also possible for people in receipt of a carers allowance to go online and book their vaccination at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/, or call 119.

For anyone unable to attend their vaccination appointments, free transport is available via Dial-a-Ride, a service from SCA Transport from Thursday 18th February 2021. To book, please phone 023 8022 2289 .
