Register if you have a medical condition that makes you extremely vulnerable to coronavirus. For example, you’ll be able to ask for help getting deliveries of essential supplies like food. If you’re not sure whether your medical condition makes you extremely vulnerable, register anyway.

You can register yourself, or on behalf of someone else.

ONLY REGISTER if either you or the person you care for is considered at high risk i.e. a much greater risk of developing serious complications if they get the virus, which may mean they need hospital treatment. This includes, for example, those who have received organ transplants, are living with severe respiratory conditions such as cystic fibrosis and severe chronic bronchitis (COPD) or specific cancers like of the blood or bone marrow.  And some (though not all) of those receiving certain types of drug treatments including ones which suppress the immune system – leaving the body less able to fight off the virus.

If you know it, it’s useful to have your NHS number to hand. You can find it on any letter the NHS has sent you or on a prescription.

Or you can call 0800 028 8327, the government’s new dedicated helpline.

Register with Southampton City Council if you or the person you care for is in a vulnerable group, in critical need and with no other means of support.  Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm
