The role of the learning disability liaison team is to help ensure open and easy access for adults with learning disabilities, and their carers, to the various departments within the hospital.

They provide specialist knowledge and expertise to assist people with a learning disability achieve a positive experience and clinically appropriate outcomes following admission and liaison with acute hospital services.

The liaison nurse is Anna McMurray. Anna works in the community as part of the Southampton community learning disability team. This allows her to access the skills and resources associated with this multidisciplinary team, which she brings to her liaison work.
